About Us
The Organic Fresh Food Company has a long heritage in organically grown fresh produce. The company was established by a group of local organic growers in 2007 when the larger organic vegetable pack house re-located to England having been here in Wales since the early 1980’s. Taking on the local wholesale business, and the shop in Lampeter, they grew the company to include a home delivery service, bringing boxes of organic veg and items from the shop to homes across south Wales.
In January 2012 myself, Lucy Watson, and Ben Pratt took over the Organic Fresh Food Company and the premises moved location…30 feet, to the unit next door.
Originally from the South of England, Ben and I have been involved in food and agriculture since 2000. I began working in specialist food shops and food markets after leaving school, and Ben trained in butchery and ran food stalls at Borough Market in London. In 2007 we left London to learn about organic and biodynamic food production. Spending the next 3 years working on farms, we returned to the UK wanting to get involved in the organic food industry. By happy coincidence we soon met Catherine and Suzanne, the then Directors of the company and the rest is history.
We are very passionate about organic food in general, and are excited to be involved in the promotion of organic produce. With the shop, our home delivery scheme, and all our wholesale customers, we have a lot to get stuck into. We plan to work very hard to maintain the close ties with the growers and the produce that have been developed over the past years, to give our customers the best value on the best produce, and to grow the company into the next phase of its life.
