> Les Caves De Pyrene
After many years as a cellar master in the most important estates in Maremma. Antonio Camillo recently set up his own vineyard totalling about 5 hectares. This wine is 100% Ciliegiolo, a grape variety traditionally from Spain, but that made it's way over to Italy in the early 17th Century. Presently, the grape is cultivetd almost exclusively in Umbria and Tuscany, with the warmth of the Maremmas growing season giving this wine a distinctively Mediterranean sweetness. From 40 year old vines, fermented in vats with indigenous yeasts for 6 months before bottling. It's juicy, fresh and minerally, with pleasant tannic structure.
